스코틀랜드의 DJ이자 가수, 음반 제작자 캘빈 해리스 (Calvin Harris)는  2007년 6월에 데뷔 앨범 [I Created Disco]를 발표하며 데뷔했다. 2009년 발매한 2집 [Ready for the Weekend]와 2012년 발매한 3집 [18 Months]가 UK 앨범 차트 1위를 차지했으며, Rihanna와 함께 작업한 'We Found Love'가 빌보드 싱글 차트에서 10주 연속 1위에 랭크되면서 화제를 모았다.

 

2013년 "그래미 어워드"에서 Best Short Form Music Video를 수상했고, 2014년 발표한 앨범 [Motion]에서는 'Under Control', 'Summer', 'Blame'이 UK 차트 1위를 차지했다. 2017년 5번째 정규 앨범 [Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1]을 발매했고, 싱글 'Feels'와 2018년 발매한 Dua Lipa의 참여 곡 'One Kiss'가 UK 차트 1위에 오르며 영향력을 과시했다.

 2020년에는 Love Regenerator, Eli Brown과의 프로젝트 앨범 [Love Regenerator 3], [Moving]을 발표해 완성도 높은 일렉트로닉 사운드를 선보였다.
 
2022년 8월에 공개된 여섯 번째 스튜디오 앨범 [Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2]에는 21 Savage, Dua Lipa, Young Thug, Charlie Puth, Justin Timberlake, Halsey, Pharrell Williams 등 다수의 인기 아티스트들이 참여해 퀄리티를 높였고 빌보드 앨범 차트 17위를 차지했다.
