미국의 가수이자 배우  Justin Timberlake는 2002년 [Justified]로 시작한 솔로 활동은 과거 N Sync 시절의 기억을 깨끗이 지워버릴 정도로 강한 인상을 남겼다. 4장의 솔로 앨범은 모두 히트했고, Michael Jackson과 Prince가 혼합된 것 같은 감각적인 음악들은 평단의 호평을 이끌어냈다.

 

The Neptunes가 메인 프로듀서를 맡은 데뷔 앨범 [Justified]는 참신한 비트와 편곡이 돋보였다. Clipse가 피처링한 'Like I Love You', 비트가 매력적인 'Rock Your Body', 프로듀서 Timbaland의 역량이 돋보인 'Cry Me A River'가 모두 차트에서 선전했다.

2006년에 발표한 2집 [FutureSex/LoveSounds]는 Timbaland를 메인 프로듀서로 기용한 앨범으로 소포모어 징크스를 가볍게 깼다. 일렉트로닉과 힙합이 매끄럽게 조합된 첫 싱글 'SexyBack'은 미국과 영국을 포함한 7개국 차트 1위에 올랐으며 전 세계적으로 1천만 장이 넘는 판매고를 기록했다. 2013년에 발표한 3집 [The 20/20 Experience]는 발매되자마자 미국에서 100만 장 가깝게 판매되며 1위로 직행했고, 11개국 차트 정상에 올랐다. 한편 2014년 5월에 발매된 Michael Jackson의 사후 앨범 [Xscape]의 'Love Never Felt So Good'은 Justin Timberlake와의 듀엣 버전이 미국에서 9위, 영국에서 8위에 올랐다.
 
약 2년 후, 초대형 팝 싱글 'CAN`T STOP THE FEELING!'을 발표, 대중적이고 댄서블한 팝 트랙을 선보이며 자신의 건재함을 증명했고, 멜론 연간차트에 랭크되며 국내에서의 인기를 증명 시키기도 했다. 이어 2018년 2월, 네 번째 정규작 [Man of the Woods]를 공개하며 5년 만의 컴백을 알렸다.
